Terms of Use and Sale

Updated September 19, 2026

The short version: download Brim for free, try Pro for 7 days, buy once to keep it on up to 3 of your Macs with free updates for version 1, and get a refund within 14 days if it’s not for you.

1. Who we are

These terms govern your use of the Brim app for macOS (“Brim”) and of this website, and the sale of Brim Pro licenses. Brim is published and sold by RMJD Group SRL (“we”, “us”), a private limited company (SRL) under Belgian law, enterprise number 1042.172.453 (Register of Legal Entities, Brussels), VAT BE 1042.172.453, email support@brimisland.com.

By installing or using Brim, or by buying a license, you agree to these terms. They are available in English and in French, and the contract can be concluded in either language.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Brim. A Brim Pro license can be activated on up to 3 Macs that you own or control. Brim is licensed to you, not sold.

3. Free features, trial and Pro

Brim’s free features can be used at no cost. The 7-day trial unlocks every Pro feature without asking for payment details. When it ends, Pro features switch off and the free features keep working. Brim Pro is unlocked by a one-time purchase. There is no subscription.

4. Price and payment

The price is shown in euros on this website and at checkout. It includes VAT where applicable. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. Stripe emails you a receipt; if you need an invoice, write to us.

5. Delivery

Brim Pro is digital content delivered immediately: right after payment, your license key is shown on screen and sent to the email address you entered at checkout. If you bought from the app, Pro unlocks on that Mac by itself.

6. Right of withdrawal and refunds

Legal right of withdrawal. As a consumer, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. For digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium, such as a Brim Pro license key, this right does not apply once the supply has begun, if you expressly agreed to that immediate supply and acknowledged that you would thereby lose your right of withdrawal (article VI.53, 13° of the Belgian Code of Economic Law). When you buy Brim Pro, you ask us to deliver your license key immediately and acknowledge this.

Our 14-day refund promise. Whether or not the legal right of withdrawal applies, we refund you in full, with no questions asked, if you ask within 14 days of your purchase. Just write to support@brimisland.com from your purchase address or with your order reference. We refund you with the payment method you used, within 14 days of your request, and the license is then deactivated.

If you prefer, you can use this model form (it is not required):

To RMJD Group SRL, support@brimisland.com:
I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the supply of the following digital content: Brim Pro license.
Ordered on: … · Name: … · Email address used for the purchase: … · Date: …

7. Updates

Your Pro license includes free updates for version 1 of Brim. A future major version may be offered as a separate purchase or upgrade.

8. What you may not do

  • Share, resell or publish your license key.
  • Bypass the license check or the trial.
  • Decompile, reverse engineer or modify Brim, except where the law expressly allows it.
  • Use Brim for any unlawful purpose.

9. macOS permissions

Some features need macOS permissions, such as Accessibility for the volume and brightness HUD, or access to your Calendar. You decide whether to grant them and can revoke them at any time in System Settings.

10. Intellectual property

Brim, its code, design and brand belong to us. These terms don’t grant you any right to our trademarks. Apple, Mac, MacBook, macOS, iPhone, AirPods, AirDrop, Beats, Dynamic Island and FaceTime are trademarks of Apple Inc. Brim is not affiliated with Apple. Other names mentioned belong to their respective owners.

11. Legal guarantee and no other warranty

As a consumer, you keep every legal guarantee you are entitled to, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under Belgian law and the mandatory rules of your country of residence. Beyond those, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, Brim is provided “as is”, without any other warranty. We don’t guarantee that Brim will be error-free, or that it will work with every Mac, app or future version of macOS.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (such as loss of data or profits), and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Brim. These limits don’t apply where the law doesn’t allow them, in particular in case of fraud, willful misconduct or gross negligence, or death or personal injury.

13. Termination

This license ends automatically if you break these terms. You can stop using Brim at any time by uninstalling it.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.

15. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by Belgian law, and the courts of Brussels have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this choice doesn’t deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can also bring proceedings before the courts of that country.

16. Complaints and consumer mediation

If something goes wrong, please write to support@brimisland.com first: we answer every message and will look for a solution with you. If we can’t agree, consumers can turn to the Consumer Mediation Service (Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur / Consumentenombudsdienst), North Gate II, Boulevard du Roi Albert II 8 box 1, 1000 Brussels, Belgium, mediationconsommateur.be, free of charge.

17. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and the version you accepted applies to your purchase. Questions? Write to support@brimisland.com. Company details are in our legal notice.
